Before opening The Herts and Essex Therapy Clinic I worked both in private practice and the NHS as a musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapist, gaining a broad experience in sports and musculoskeletal injury treatment and prevention of all age groups as well as orthopaedic and post-operative rehabilitation.
Through my years of experience and being keen to maintain health and fitness i have gained a strong interest in Sports Injuries, Spinal Dysfunction, Tendinopathies, Acupuncture, IMS Needling, Shockwave Therapy, The Graston Technique and Strength and Condition based rehabilitation.
Since qualifying I have undertaken a variety of post graduate training; including Spinal Manipulation, Kinesio and Traditional Taping, Acupuncture, Shockwave Therapy and Sports Massage.
I have been privileged to work and learn alongside talented and renowned physiotherapists within the sporting industry from Football, F1, Olympic Snowboaring, Hockey, Swimming to British Boxing.
I graduated as a chartered physiotherapist from the University of Hertfordshire in 1997. Before opening the Herts & Essex therapy clinic I worked extensively in an acute hospital setting gaining a wide knowledge base in intensive care, medical, surgical, orthopaedics, outpatients, elderly rehabilitation and on paediatric wards.
I then specialised in paediatrics working for several years in children’s centres, specialist centres for children with physical disabilities in both mainstream and special schools and in the community. Whilst working for the NHS I also worked in private practice for Spire healthcare, independently treating children and adults with neurological conditions and also working with older people in care homes and their home environment
Through my years of experience I have gained a strong interest in all aspects of Paediatrics but especially in Cerebral palsy and developmental delay. A large proportion of children and adults that I treat are case managed following litigation for problems around the time of birth or acquired brain injury.
I also have a special interest in the treatment of adults with cerebral palsy, upper limb rehabilitation in Stroke patients, elderly rehabilitation and Guillan Barre syndrome.
Since qualifying I have undertaken a variety of post graduate training: including Bobath treatment technique, saeboflex, conductive education, GMFM & Outcome measures, Hydrotherapy etc.
Since graduating in 2012 I have been working primarily in cardio and neuro rehabilitation before joining the Herts and Essex Therapy Clinic 3 years ago. Previous to becoming a physio I worked in the fitness industry for over 15 years as a health club manager, personal trainer and group fitness instructor.
My interest in physiotherapy began after finishing a Pilates course and began receiving physiotherapy referrals for all kinds of core/joint instabilities. I greatly enjoyed helping people by working with them to make the corrections they needed to improve their weaknesses/pain. Which, is what led me wanting to go back to university so I would be equipped to do even more for people than just teach exercises…and I haven’t look back since!
Sally works as a physiotherapy assistant carrying out programmes set by our physiotherapy team. She works with children and adults. Sally's experience prior to becoming an assistant was working as a nanny with children of all ages and a busy mum to 3 children.
I completed my level 3 in sports massage therapy with Premier Global Training back in 2017, and my level 4 early 2018. My career as a personal trainer has been one of the best decisions I ever made.
From a young age, I just wanted to help people and improve their quality of life. I get a kick out of making others happy and allowing them to acknowledge their potential. After working within the health and fitness industry for a little over 3 years I decided to add a string to my bow. I wanted to be able to answer all the questions people asked me about certain physical issues they had, and why it hurt to do certain things. Hence why sports massage appealed to me so much! I've loved every minute of it since starting last year and I'm not looking back.

I suffered with a chronic autoimmune disease called psoriasis for 25 years and was told that there was no cure, I tried everything the medical profession had and it appeared that they were right as nothing made very much difference, until I took matters into my own hands, did lots of research and healed myself with food! After this I decided to get qualified so that I could help others. I studied for 3 years at The College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) and qualified as a Naturopathic Nutritionist. It has been my absolute honour and privilege to see my clients recover from serious disease and turn their lives around as I did.

I know it sound corny but the truth is all I have ever wanted was to qualify as a therapist so I can just get out there and start helping people. So yeah you could say I’m living my dream.
I love my job as a Hypnotherapist, In fact it doesn’t even feel like a job, because it’s something I just simply am passionate about, i have trained with leading providers and also attended additional specialised courses, to name a few such as PTS, Weight Management, Stop Smoking, Past Life Regression, Age Regression and much much more.
My passion lies in the Holistic field of treatments as I truly believe that with today's busy lifestyles we could all benefit greatly from a more Holistic approach to life on various levels. With regular Holistic treatments we become more centred and grounded and in turn more radiant-which in itself is a sign of beauty.
My background is in traditional Hair and Beauty treatments and I have had Salons myself over the years. However over the last few years I have been studying various Holistic treatments to sit alongside the more traditional beauty treatments, I find they compliment each other beautifully.
At The Herts and Essex Therapy Clinic I will be offering Reki, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, Hopi Ear Candling, Crystal Therapy and Rebalancing and various types of facial and massage (for more information please see our treatments section).
